The Inventive Market Story

Hi, I’m Kyle Thomas , the founder of Inventive Market. I currently work as a Director in Risk Management covering Leverage Finance at one of the largest banks in the world. As much as I enjoy my career, my true passion is Inventive Market. I’d like to share the story of how this platform came to be.

Back in college, I was trying to figure out my future. I knew I wanted to do something big, something that could create real opportunity, but I didn’t know exactly what. At first, I thought I’d invent the “next big thing.” But when no breakthrough idea came to me, I realized something important: maybe my role wasn’t to invent the product, but to build the place where innovators could share their ideas with the world. That was the seed of Inventive Market.

Inventive Market is more than a social platform. It’s a space where people can showcase their intellectual property, connect with entrepreneurs, and turn concepts into real products. There is so much fear and secrecy about intellectual property. But if ideas remain hidden then they will never flourish. I envision a future in which people can trade IP as easily as a share of stock.

I often hear concerns about protecting ideas. Here’s the truth: companies are usually more worried about lawsuits than stealing IP. On Inventive Market, every idea you share creates a record of when and with whom it was shared, and your existing IP rights always stay with you. Still, you should only post what you’re comfortable making public. Just like you’d share your best photo on a dating app but not your home address, highlight what makes your idea exciting without giving away sensitive details.

I believe Inventive Market can become the go-to marketplace for ideas. I have big plans for where this is headed, and I couldn’t be more excited for you to be part of it.
